Happy Teacher's Day!

Guru Goving dou khade, Kake lagu pao
Bali hari Guru apne, Govind diyo bataye!

A very happy teachers day to all my Teachers. Not only this day but i have always thanked you in my heart for making me the person i am today. I wonder, if krishnan or many other kids like him would have the same gratitude towards their teachers!

Torture in school has become a common affair. Kasab is been taken care off and is not punished for such a heinous crime, why are these kids? The reasons for which they were harshly penalized, was it really a crime??

- Krishnan could not write English properly. To make him teach that, his teacher used cane on his back.

- 10 year old girl had a habit of bed-wetting, her teacher forced her to drink her urine to teach her a lesson.

- 5 year old boy could not control and urinated and vomited in the class. The cause for this act was his ill health. Instead of taking care of him, his teacher hit on his private parts with a hot tong to discipline him.

- 9 year old boy was thrashed viciously for not paying attention in the class.

- Boys of 9th standard were fighting and as a result their head master gave both of them such thrashing that they had to be admitted in the hospital for days.

These are just a few just a few cases among few registered and many many unregistered. Of course the follow up news states that the teacher has been punished, jailed or suspended. But have we thought about the psyche of the child who is undergoing this pain? The external marks will certainly go sooner or later, but what about the internal healing?

Will these kids have a normal childhood?
Will they go to school happily?
Will that boy ever learn English or will he fear for that subject always?
Will that little girl sleep at night without fear?
Will that kid be ever playful in class or will he become a quiet person?
Won't they be embarrassed in front of their classmates?
Will they become the fearless fighters of the young nation?

India is a nation where we put our teachers before God. We worship our teachers for the knowledge they spread, for the lessons of life they teach, for the guidance they give and for the love they spread in our lives. Is it true in the current situation? My niece goes to school and soon my daughter will join her, but can i be in peace when they are in school? We all know the answer in our hearts. On behalf of all the parents, i can only request to all the teachers on this Teachers' day -

"Sir and Ma'am, Thank you for being the torch bearer in our kid's life. Please show them the correct path with lots of love. Love is the only language which we teach them and send them to you. Be patient with them.  Give them a reason to smile. Make them a person to be proud of. Be the leading light. They might be naughty but not scandalous, they might be playful but not illicit, they might be disobedient but not disgraceful, they might be mischievous but not inexcusable."

Thank you Sir, Thank you Ma'am!
