Roti, kapda, makaan, water, sanitation, electricity, education,
employment and endless "vadaas" or promises.
Yes, i am talking
about our beloved politicians. I am not a lover of politics rather am highly
apolitical. And with the growing size of scams, my faith is going downhill with
the same rate. In this pitch dark political scenario, do you see any ray of
hope?
A BIG NO.
When Mr. Nitish
Kumar became CM of my Bihar, well he had his speech and of course, a lot of
promises. I had, of course, no hope.
This was my view
few months back till i revisited my Bihar after a long and a very long
time. With what i saw, what i heard, what i felt, i was forced to change
my perspective.
Where ever
i went, roads were mended, in entire Bihar. Like before, my tours were not
a roller coaster ride. Not only the roads, even life is becoming turbulence
free to some extent.
People who can't
afford much for their kids, send them to "agan badi", where they get
education, stationary, food, and clothes for free. For primary education,
government schools, where teachers are present, have yearly fees of Rs 10 or Rs
20 and other fees which are so nominal which any one can afford. To top it,
there is free lunch and some amount is given to students for clothing. For
higher education, girls are given money to buy bicycle for their easy
commutation and yearly money to make their clothes.
For daughters at
18 or above, collective wedding is done where everything is managed by the
government. The daughters also gets Rs 5000 along with the government's
blessings.
When again they
have babies, government hospital are for their service where doctors and other
facilities are present. Hospital charge is Rs 2/- where in you can avail
qualified doctor's check up, free medicines, x-rays, ultra sound and many more
facilities. If you have a girl child, Rs 5000 is deposited in her name in the
bank and parents get the pass book. New born can withdraw the same at time of
her wedding. Be it boy or girl, parents get Rs 1500 for taking service from
government(of course they should put a condition - till 2 kids only,
considering the population explosion). The only condition to avail the above
said, is that, you do a regular check up and come and take your free medicines
during your pregnancy.
There are
"Asha" - who help pregnant ladies throughout. There are
"Mamta" - the ones who teach about hygiene and other care
for the new born. There might be numerous other things which i don't know about
but in real reaching to people.
Education
and employment joining hands and making a better Bihar. Every
scattered piece is falling into correct place. All these sounds like a
dream. But it is not!! Some where some one is pulling the strings to keep the
entire show running.
To see a
politician who has been a man of his words, hope is again finding its place in
my heart. I think we all are actually clinging to this ray of hope!! Of course
there's a lot to be done yet. But hey, Rome was also not built in a day!
Right!!
We all owe you a
BIG salute, Nitish Sir.
Hail Nitish, Hail
Bihar, Hail Biharies!!!
